Materuni Waterfall & Coffee

After a relaxed breakfast, we will pick you up from Salinero Hotel for the first activity of your adventure. Just outside Moshi, on the lush lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, lies Materuni village — home to the Chagga people, one of Tanzania’s largest and most influential tribes. Here, you’ll enjoy a hands-on coffee tour, learning how the Chagga grow, roast, and brew their coffee, accompanied by traditional dance. A scenic walk then leads you through banana plantations and tropical forest to the impressive Materuni Waterfalls. A local lunch is included before returning to your hotel for a relaxed evening.

First Game Drive - Mkomazi National Park

Today marks the start of your very first game drive as you set out on a full-day safari to Mkomazi National Park, a rugged, off-the-beaten-track wilderness east of Moshi. Pick-up and drop-off take place at Salinero Hotel. Explore open savannahs and acacia woodlands with sweeping views of the Pare and Usambara Mountains, keeping an eye out for giraffes, elephants, zebras, and rare species such as the black rhino. With few visitors and vast open landscapes, Mkomazi offers an authentic safari experience far from the crowds.
