Often called the "Coca-Cola Route," Marangu is Kilimanjaro’s most popular trail, known for its gentle slopes and cozy mountain huts — perfect for those who prefer a more comfortable, scenic ascent. At Genes Adventures, we offer both 5- and 6-day options. The 6-day route includes an extra acclimatization day, boosting your chances of reaching the summit while giving you more time to embrace the magic of the mountain. We highly recommend taking that extra day to make the most of your adventure!
After breakfast, head to Marangu Gate where your guide arranges permits as you enjoy coffee or tea. Trek into the lush rainforest, rich in wildlife and exotic plants. After about 4 hours, reach Mandara Hut. In the afternoon, visit Maundi Crater for sweeping views over Kenya’s plains.
