Africa Safari Karatu

Lodge Class: Mid-Range

While in Karatu you'll be staying at Africa Safari Karatu. It's a delightful place, looking out over the wonderfully green highlands that border the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The brick-walled rooms have loads of personality with local handicrafts and fine views. There is also a handful of simple safari tents on site, and the restaurant uses seasonal local ingredients. Even the swimming pool has views.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Spend two full days exploring Serengeti’s vast plains, home to the Big Five and an incredible variety of wildlife. You may witness the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras move in search of greener pastures. In October and November, migratory animals begin their journey toward the Southern Serengeti Ecosystem – Ndutu, though their movement depends on the weather. To maximize sightings, we’ve included accommodation in Central Serengeti, allowing flexibility to search for them. Lions, cheetahs, and leopards are commonly spotted, along with elephants and buffalo. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your adventure. Return to your lodge for dinner and a restful night in the wild.

Wildlife could pass right by your safari tent at Thorn Tree Camp here in the central Serengeti. The large tents lie surrounded by savannah and you'll be able to lie in your bed and listen to the night sounds of Africa. This is truly one of the most memorable safari experiences you can imagine. Or by day you can watch animals grazing nearby. Meals in the dining tent are just as enjoyable.
